Future directions

Like the city we promote, Brisbane Marketing has come a long way over recent years. In a fast-paced and rapidly changing world we have continued to deliver great results. As proud as we are of the job we’ve done, we want you to know that we will continue to strive for new successes.

A snapshot of some of the key priorities for 2007-2010 includes:

• Ongoing implementation of destination marketing activities with an increased focus on local experience marketing, integrated city-wide branding and core product awareness.

• Implementation of the Queensland Tourism Strategy with Tourism Queensland, and product and infrastructure development including the Moreton Bay and Islands Tourism Infrastructure Development initiative.

• Strengthened emphasis on conventions and incentives development through increased international marketing to the association sector, familiarisation programs, delegate boosting and the coordination of a city bid team for major conferences.

• Delivery of an integrated program of investment attraction and strategic projects including positioning Brisbane as an international centre for electronic games development.

• Further development of the Major Events Brisbane initiative and associated opportunities for event tourism.

• Implementation of a new web strategy with an increased focus on the Internet, e-communications and e-marketing.
