Rydges South Bank unveils $12m Podium Level
22/10/2012
Rydges South Bank has unveiled its $12m Podium Level this week, incorporating five new functions spaces and the highly anticipated pool, bar and restaurant concept - BACCHUS.
Creatively designed by revered LA interior designer Tracy Beckmann, the Podium Level will bring a new level of class and sophistication to executive meetings, conferencing and events.
Four adjoining functions rooms illuminated by natural light, gold leaf wallpaper, exquisitely crafted shell pillars and Italian draperies, lead out to adjoining restaurant and bar concept BACCHUS via three metre high solid brass doors.
A stand-alone study, showcasing a spectacular crystal chandelier and chic ornamentals runs off to the side, available for private functions and conferencing.
The Podium level function facilities can house up to 450 guests for dinner or 600 cocktail; a 30 per cent increase on past capacity.
General Manager of Rydges South Bank Hotel Patrick Lonergan said the refurbishment will be a huge improvement on the function and event capabilities previously offered at the venue.
“Each function room will be fitted out with iPad and internet connectivity, allowing our corporate clientele to fully automate meetings and presentations” he said.
Podium guests will have direct access to the BACCHUS restaurant, bar and pool area, also designed to emulate the warm rich vibe of South Florida Beach, Miami, with an A-la-carte Mediterranean menu and unique focus on olive oils.
Lord Mayor of Brisbane Graham Quirk congratulated Rydges South Bank Brisbane on the launch of its innovative and tailored conference facilities.
“Brisbane is rapidly growing as a destination of choice for business events, and it is developments and refurbishments like the Rydges South Bank Brisbane upgrade that only strengthen the city’s ability to accommodate business events of any kind.
“Rydges South Bank Brisbane is directly contributing to the growth of Brisbane’s business events industry, and is a great example of how Brisbane truly is Australia’s new world city,” he said.
Rydges Podium will officially open for trade from Wednesday, October 24.
