Save the date in your diary for the second Member Networking Function of 2010, to be held at The Strand at Rugby Quay on Tuesday 27 July from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
Brisbane Marketing members will receive an electronic invitation.
The Strand at Rugby Quay is Brisbane's most spectacular new event centre, with an unrivalled position on Eagle Street in the financial heart of the CBD. Located in the landmark Rugby Quay redevelopment being undertaken by the Queensland Rugby Club at the Riverside Centre, The Strand offers panoramic views of the Brisbane River and Story Bridge from a venue which provides banquet space for up to 320 guests or cocktails for up to 550.
The five star standard boutique-style dining and service is matched by striking contemporary decor. The Strand at Rugby Quay can also be divided into two smaller venues with an operable wall separating each room. With its close proximity to many of Brisbane's international hotels and a location directly adjacent to the main City Cat terminal, the event centre is already proving to be a popular choice for visiting conference group events as well as local business and social occasions.
"Our venue offers a fresh new alternative for organisers and function planners who are always on the hunt for something exciting and different. We believe that it ticks all the boxes when it comes to venue selection, which has been proven by the very strong interest received since the soft opening in April," said Bill Brassington, The Queensland Rugby Club Director of Sales and Marketing.
The event centre forms just part of the stunning $13 million Rugby Quay complex which will include the exclusive Queensland Rugby Club (QRC) on its upper level. A 150 seat authentic Asian restaurant to be called Zen Central at Rugby Quay will also be located next door to The Strand. Also offering extensive river views, Zen Central will feature both indoor and al fresco dining and will be open to the public 7 days a week. Mr Brassington said that he anticipated the new QRC premises and Zen Central would be open for operations in August of this year.
