As Christmas and the end of 2009 fast approaches, on behalf of the Board and Management of Brisbane Marketing I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our valued members and corporate, government and industry partners for your ongoing support, which has greatly contributed to the success of Brisbane Marketing over this past year.

Christmas is a great time of year in Brisbane for many reasons, here’s but a few!

The Queen Street Mall and CBD will take a new world city approach to Christmas this year with a hive of new festive activities designed to make Christmas time a magical experience for the whole family. Highlights include the 12 Days of Christmas Stage Show on the Queen Street Mall stage (shows run every day until Thursday 24 December excluding Mondays) and listen out for Pop-Up Carollers who are spreading Christmas cheer around the city's streets until Christmas Eve.  To see the world’s largest solar powered Christmas tree, make your way to the newly re-opened King George Square.

Now open at Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art/Queensland Art Gallery, the 6th Asia Pacific Triennial (APT6) is the most extensive event on the international calendar for contemporary art in Asia, Australia and the Pacific.  The exhibition will run until Monday 5 April and the Kid's APT Summer Spectacular is sure to keep young art-lovers entertained from Saturday 16 to Tuesday 26 January.

If too much sport is never enough, the 2nd annual Brisbane International Tennis Championship hits off from Sunday 3 to Sunday 10 January featuring many of the world’s greatest players and the domestic and international cricket season, which is already underway, will continue until February.

For more information on where to play, shop, eat, drink throughout the city and the greater Brisbane region please visit our newly launched destination website www.visitbrisbane.com.au.

The Brisbane Marketing team wishes you and your family a very safe and happy Christmas and look forward to working with you in 2010.
