Student Ambassador Program
Brisbane International Student Ambassador Program
The Brisbane International Student Ambassador program is an exciting initiative managed by Brisbane Marketing’s Study Brisbane team that’s helping to create global advocates for Brisbane. Across the year, Brisbane International Student Ambassadors actively promote Brisbane as an international study destination by sharing their experiences of our vibrant and multicultural city.
The honorary and voluntary role of an Ambassador involves giving an open and honest account of living and studying in Brisbane as an international student. This includes documenting international student life through social media channels, and more formal activities such as media interviews, speaking at seminars and events, meeting official visiting delegations to Brisbane and acting as a source of information for the Ambassador’s education institution.
Now in its fourth year, the class of 2012 consists of 29 Ambassadors from 24 countries that represent some of Brisbane’s largest student source markets, including China, India, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. The students are aged between 19 and 34, and are studying a wide range of education courses in Brisbane such as business, journalism, medicine, ethics and government policy. This year an Australian student was also included in the program to assist with social inclusion.
There are many benefits for member institutions involved in the Brisbane International Student Ambassador program including:
-
exposure for the education institution by their representing Ambassador;
-
exposure through Ambassador familiarisation programs;
-
publicity and media opportunities; and
-
further profiling from any online Q&A segments.
