Leisure Tourism
As the official regional tourism organisation for Brisbane, Brisbane Marketing is the key tourism body for the Greater Brisbane region which includes destinations such as Brisbane, Ipswich, the Scenic Rim and Country Valleys, and Moreton Bay and Islands.
Leisure Tourism is an integral component in positioning Brisbane as Australia’s new world city and delivering Brisbane Marketing’s brand aspirations as an innovative and enterprising city.
Our role is to position and promote Brisbane as a tourism destination and gateway to Queensland’s attractions. Our activities are underpinned by Brisbane’s Destination Management Plan 2008–2011. We’re committed to increasing awareness, preference and intention to travel from source markets, increasing visitor expenditure and the value of tourism in Brisbane, and increasing tourism employment and retention, whilst maintaining sustainable development of the city’s tourism products and experiences.
As Brisbane relies heavily on both domestic and international tourism contribution to the region, Brisbane Marketing works in partnership with Tourism Australia, Tourism Queensland, local councils and tourism operators to increase visitation and foster product development.
